The Whale Shark is one of the 34 tier 10 animals in Deeeep.io. It is based on its real life counterpart, Rhincodon typus. It is one of the animals a Wobbegong Shark can evolve into, along with the Basking Shark and the Tiger Shark.

Introduction

The Whale Shark is the biggest shark and fish in the world, and is one of the three filter feeding species, along with the Basking Shark and the Megamouth Shark. This species is a gentle giant, crusading peacefully in the vast ocean.

Although it is not dangerous, the Whale Shark is still not an animal to mess with. Several remora orbit the shark like drones, and if anything dares to hurt its master, the remoras are quick to strike. They packed quite a punch, and always succeed in scaring away its opponents. The remoras served as the shark's loyal body guards, and many of them fought and died for their master.

Mechanics

• Wobbegong sharks choose to evolve into Basking Sharks, Tiger Sharks or Whale Sharks.
  • 48,000 XP is required for a Wobbegong Shark to evolve into a whale shark.
• Whale Sharks do not evolve into any other animals, as they are one of the Tier 10 Animals.
• Whale Sharks drop meat upon death.
• As a whale shark, friendly fire is turned off for all tier 1 animals: meaning you cannot damage them nor be damaged by them.

Remora Drones

Main article: Remora

• A remora will spawn every time a whale shark gains a boost. A whale shark can have a maximum amount of 4 remoras.
• Remoras will normally follow its host, or revolve around it when the whale shark is stationary.
• If the whale shark holds its boost however, the remoras will attack nearby players according to the following priority:
  • They will attack the last animal who attacked you in the last 5 seconds
  • They will attack the last animal you attacked in the last 5 seconds
  • They will attack the closest animal to you
  • This will however change in the Snow and Below update, where the remoras prioritize targets that the whale shark hits over the ones that hit the whale shark.

Passive Abilities

• Eat to gain boosts. For every boost you gain, a remora will spawn and follow you. If the whale shark is to be stationary, the remoras will orbit the whale shark instead.
• If all of the remoras are used up, the whale shark will receive +20% speed boost.
• The whale shark is immune to grabs, whale suctions and turbulent waters (a.k.a whirlpools).
• Is not slowed down by coral fans or table corals.

• The suitable biome for the whale shark is the ocean.
  • If a whale shark enters the ocean surface, it will lose oxygen.
  • If a whale shark enters the arctic, it will lose temperature.
  • If a whale shark enters the arctic surface, it will lose oxygen and temperature.
  • If a whale shark enters the deeeep, it will lose pressure.
  • If a whale shark enters the swamp, it will lose salinity.
  • If a whale shark enters the swamp surface, it will lose oxygen and it will not regenerate salinity.

Update Proposals

As we mentioned earlier, Whale Sharks are incredibly weak and underpowered animals. Fortunately, they are getting some balancing changes that may make it a stronger animal. Below are the changes the whale shark will get according to the Crabinet's Final Presentation as of version 4.0.1:

• The Whale Shark will have a base speed of 100% instead of 90%.
• The remora drones of the Whale Shark will have a base speed of 140% instead of 120%, making it capable of chasing fast targets including the Marlin.
• The remora drones will prioritize the animals the Whale Shark hits instead over the ones that hit the Whale Shark.

• The whale shark is the only animal in the game to have 4 boosts, while other animals have 1, 2 or 3.
