The Sunfish is a tier 10 animal. It is based on its real life counterpart, the Ocean Sunfish, Mola Mola.

Mechanics[]

Oarfish evolve into sunfish.
- 48,000 XP is required for an oarfish to evolve into a sunfish.
Sunfish do not evolve into any other animals, as they are one of the latest animals.
Sunfish drop meat upon death.

As a sunfish, friendly fire is turned off for all tier 1 animals: meaning you cannot touch them or interact with them in any way.

Passive Abilities[]

You take no recoil knockback when attacking.
You are partially immune to poison (20%).

Active Abilities[]

Boosting will give you +50% speed (150% total)
While boosting Sunfish is immune to grabs
Hitting an animal while boosting will lower its speed by 15%.

Suitable Biomes[]

The suitable biomes for the sunfish are the ocean and the deeeep.
- If a sunfish enters the ocean surface, it will lose oxygen.
- If a sunfish enters the arctic, it will lose temperature.
- If a sunfish enters the arctic surface, it will lose oxygen and temperature.
- If a sunfish enters the swamp, it will lose salinity.
- If a sunfish enters the swamp surface, it will lose oxygen and it will not regenerate salinity.

Seasonal skins can only be used in certain seasons, such as Christmas, Lunar New Year etc. They will disappear from the Store once the Season is over, but will be back next year, and remain in the player's inventory if they bought them.

Trivia[]

As it has no recoil and is resistant to poison, Sunfish is often considered the best animals for killing Lion's Mane Jellyfish.
- The Softshell Turtle is not immune to poison however, making Sunfish very much the best.
- Even with its poison resistance and lack of recoil, the title of "best LMJ killer" is heavily debatable thanks to the likes of Narwhal and Marlin thanks to their ability to bleed. Walrus is also a contender, as it causes bleed and has no recoil while boosting.
  - Oarfish is also a contender, as it's invulnerable to poison and it's decent base stats. However, it's limited pressure time can interfere with killing the Lion's Mane Jellyfish.
Before it's buff in the Snow and Below update, this animal was formerly an inside joke within the greater Deeeepio community:
- It was sometimes called "funfish" or as an extension to "funfish", "funfish ofial", as a childish misspelling of "official".
