''Not to be confused with animal stats.'' Effects are a key part of Deeeep.io, making up a majority of abilities for animals. They can passive or harmful to the affected player, and are signified by a plus sign next to the changed stat (normal stats of an animal don't show a plus sign). A list of effects is provided below: == Regeneration == Regeneration affects the rate at which an animal heals in seconds, rather than the actual health regained. It is represented as a faint red plus sign.
A few examples of animals that can give this effect to themselves (or others) are listed below: * Manatees passively heal all nearby swamp animals 3x faster. * Axolotls and Icefish can regain their health 3x faster if still. * Humpback Whales can heal themselves 2.5x faster using a Heal Song. == Speed == Speed affects the movement speed of an animal, the dash distance of an animal, the walking speed of an animal (if it can walk on terrain), and the damage of an animal. It is represented as some arrows. If an animal ''loses'' speed, its health bar can become violet (exception is when an animal is slowed down by 15% after taking hefty damage). Some examples of animals that can give themselves or others (de)buffs are listed below: * Cachalots can slow down other animals (except other Cachalots) by 35% using their boost. * Marlins can boost their own speed up to 99% more by porpoising. * Beluga whales get a 10% speed buff when under ice. * Alligator gars get a 10% speed buff at the surface of water (except at air pockets). == Strength == Strength affects the damage of an animal. However, there isn't a formula for how the strength stat is calculated yet, as the shown strength buff isn't calculated the same for each animal. It is represented as a sword. Some examples of animals that can give themselves strength are listed below: * Giant salamanders can get to 100% strength (200 damage) by standing still. * Alligator gars can deal 280 damage (shown as 60% strength) using a charged boost. * Elephant seals can give themselves varying levels of strength depending on their health. == Bleeding == Bleeding deals damage over time (3% of the animal's maximum health by default) and prevents health regeneration. It is represented by making the green portion of the health bar of the affected animal dark red. Some examples of animals that can give this effect are below: * Marlins can inflict bleed for 5 seconds if they use a dash or if they have at least 33% speed. * Narwhals can inflict bleed if they use a dash. * Cookiecutter sharks can inflict bleed after latching onto a target. * Alligator Snapping Turtles can inflict bleed on a fully charged boost. == Strangulation == Strangulation is exclusively inflicted by Anaconda upon wrapping around an animal, and drains the oxygen of the target. It is represented by making the green portion of the health bar of the target a tainted orange. == Electricity == Electricity is exclusively inflicted by Atlantic Torpedoes and Electric Eels, immobilizing them, preventing them from dashing or charging a boost, and does small but rapid damage. It can also spread from other animals that are shocked. It is represented by making the green portion of the HP bar of the inflicted animal yellow. == Blindness == Blindness is exclusively inflicted by Octopi, and affects the vision of an animal, preventing it from seeing more than it usually could. It is represented by making the green portion of the inflicted animal's health bar black. ==Poison == Poison deals damage over time (7% target max HP ÷ size scale ÷ animal width) and slows the inflicted animal by 10%. It is represented by making the green portion of the inflicted animal's health bar purple. Some examples of animals that can give this effect are listed below: * Jellyfish inflict poison when they are hit. * Lionfish inflict poison in a radius using a charged boost. * Lion's Mane Jellyfish inflict poison when their tentacles are touched (it deals more damage than normal poison + inflicts initial damage too) * Pufferfish inflict poison when they are hit, but only when they are inflated. == Drowning == Drowning is exclusively inflicted by Coconut Crab, and drains the oxygen of the target, as well as making them less buoyant (doesn't affect animals that aren't good swimmers). It is represented by bubbles rapidly appearing above the target, albeit visual only, as they cannot be consumed. == Flashbang == Flashbang is exclusively inflicted by Megamouth Shark's laser beam, and blinds the inflicted target, limiting their vision with a cyan vignette. It is represented by making the green portion of the inflicted animal's health bar white.
